Series Champion to Win 2025 Honda “Metropolitan” European Scooter
As the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) season at Wellington International passes its halfway point, the overall title in the BrainJuice Under 25 Grand Prix Series is now within reach for several up-and-coming show jumping talents. Highlighting WEF 8, the $32,000 BrainJuice U25 Semi-Final Grand Prix takes up the limelight on Friday evening in the International Arena.
After a win in the $31,020 BrainJuice U25 Grand Prix aboard Karoline of Ballmore on the final day of WEF 6, Hallie Grimes currently sits at the top of the BrainJuice U25 Grand Prix Series season standings. With the momentum of a win on her side, Grimes is ready to take aim at the overall title.

“I’ve been doing the U25 series for five years now and there was definitely a point where a U25 grand prix was the biggest thing I’d ever jumped,” said the Houston, TX, native. “Now I’ve jumped a few five-stars consistently. This year I have 10 horses here but a lot of them are quite young, so I’ve been focusing on producing them. I don’t have the string to compete at the highest level this year at WEF but my goal is to win the U25 series this year.”

Ahead of Friday evening’s BrainJuice U25 Semi-Final Grand Prix, Mexico’s Nicole Velazco Magaña topped the $10,000 BrainJuice U25 Welcome to open WEF 8 aboard Daddy’s Destiny, a horse she’s been competing internationally for nearly four years.

The BrainJiuce U25 Series in Wellington grows increasingly more competitive every year, and to top a class full of talented young riders is a huge accomplishment, but Velazco Magaña still has her eye on the $50,0000 BrainJuice U25 Series Final, which takes place on Sunday of WEF 10.
“This is my second year doing the U25,” she said. “We are the right age to do it and it’s such a good experience. The courses here are very well done. It’s a little pressure because we’re competing against people our age, but it’s even more exciting because everyone is so competitive.”
BrainJuice announced this week that their coveted prize for the series final will be a branded 2025 Honda “Metropolitan” European Scooter, highlighting their inspired dedication to the series as a whole.
“BrainJuice is proud to be the title sponsor of the U25 Grand Prix Series, which offers crucial experience to athletes between the ages of 16 to 25 that are elevating from the junior jumpers to the grand prix level in the sport show jumping,” said Lisa Ellis, CEO & CMO of BrainJuice Brands. “The U25 allows both athletes and their equine partners to grow the critical experience needed to establish a dependable relationship in the ring, while also building the next stages of their careers as athletes.
